Meeting Place
Our usual meeting place is in the foyer of the Park Hyatt hotel, located on Commonwealth Avenue, Yarralumla.
If you have a special request, please discuss it with us, as we are happy to consider other suitable locations. We may even be able to pick you up, & take you back, to your accommodation! (pick-up area is limited)
Meeting Time
Due to the changing time of first light throughout the year, the meeting time will vary seasonally. You will be advised of the required meeting time when your flight is confirmed but it will generally be 30 minutes before sunrise.
Flight Time
We aim to fly for 1 hour but your flight time may vary from 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on winds and available landing zones.
Ballooning is fun and our flight with you should be fun as well. We look forward to getting to know you a little better during the morning and sharing some of our joy of ballooning with you.
As this is your private balloon for the morning, you can specify your requirements to us and we'll strive to meet them. For instance, do you want some flowers, or decorations for the balloon? Perhaps you would like to fly somewhere specific or important to you. We can probably cater to your desires so go ahead and ask, we'll discuss any changes to the package price and make the arrangements.
Weather
When flying in our Balloon, you will go where the wind blows and move as one with the air. There is little noise and no sensation of wind, as you are moving at the same speed! We don't have wings or rudder and as such we are very susceptible to the weather and must consider the safety of our passengers and crew before each flight.
We can not guarantee that the weather on any given day will be suitable for flight and can not fly when it is windy, wet or foggy. To avoid disappointment we ask you to remain flexible and to confirm suitable weather conditions by calling our message bank 1 hour before the assigned meeting time.
 What to Wear
You will need to dress for the weather of the day but we advise you wear layers that can be removed as the day warms up. We also advise you bring a hat, cap or beanie and wear flat soled shoes with a degree of protection from possibly damp grass fields.
At the Hyatt
We will meet 30 minutes before sunrise in the foyer of the Hyatt to finalise our paperwork and confirm the launch site for the day. Our pilot, Michael will make contact with you and explain the experience ahead, including a pre-flight safety briefing. Once paperwork is complete we will move to the vehicle, meet the crew, and depart for the launch site.
On the Launch Field
 The set up and launching of the balloon usually takes about 30 minutes from arrival at the launch field. You may like get involved with the set up, or relax and take in the fresh morning air, sounds and scenery.
The balloon basket is laid on its side and the balloon attached. After the balloon components and attachments are checked, the balloon will be dragged out of its bag.
The balloon is then filled with cold air via an inflation fan, and when it is full, the air is heated by the propane burners. As the hot air in the balloon rises, the basket is drawn to the upright position, ready for you to hop on board.
Final safety checks on the whole system are completed and, when ready, more heat is added until the balloon lifts gently into the air.
 In Flight
Relax, take photos, let me take photos or video for you, partake in a glass of champagne and enjoy some strawberries. Ask that question, renew commitments or show how much you love your special person. I've seen it all and have a 100% "Yes" rate from onboard proposals!
 On the Landing Field
Packing the balloon away will take about 30 minutes and you are again welcome to assist or relax as you desire. We will make coffee and tea available and conclude with the traditional balloon flight blessing before returning to the Hyatt for breakfast.
